Sunday’s “Visit Marion County 150” at East Carolina Motor Speedway marked the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour’s first visit to the Robersonville, NC race track. It also was the site of Trey Hutchens’ third straight Top-10 in the series.

“East Carolina is unlike any place the tour will visit this year. The amount of tire fall-off the racing surface provides made for a race of conservation, so I wasn’t too alarmed when we were only able to qualify 10th. We made good adjustments on the car all day during practice and good pit strategy put us in the top-5 with 25 laps left. Unfortunately, after changing our allotted tire, we fell off a little more than most and gave up a few spots on late-race restarts. All-in-all a positive day.”
